There is a runoff election Tuesday Sept 29th, for the offices of NYC Comptroller and Public Advocate. A runoff election occurs when one candidate does not obtain 40% of the vote in the primary election. Historically runoff elections have a very low turnout - which means every vote counts.
For more information, check out the candidate's websites.
Comptroller:
John Liu
David Yassky
Public Advocate:
Bill de Blasio
Mark Green
Polling locations are open from 6 AM to 9 PM. If you are unsure of where to go, you can find out at NYC.gov.
