2010 Charter School Advocacy Day!
At the State Capitol, Albany, NY
That's right, charter schools should mark their calendars for Tuesday, February 2nd for the annual charter school Advocacy Day where all charter school stakeholders - parents, students, employees, and trustees - can join forces to lobby state legislators and policymakers on behalf of your school and New York's charter movement at our state's capital city of Albany.
Last February, Advocacy Day drew 800 participants from all over New York State - a record number we hope to exceed this coming February.
Advocacy for your charter school, and the charter school movement as a whole, is vital. Charter schools were authorized by the state Legislature and subject to laws created by and subject to change by the Legislature in a way that could advance or cripple a charter school's ability to succeed for its students.
So you are actually in Albany? How far is that?? What if the DS comes today? OH NO!!!
